Connect your storage

Flashboard connects with any S3-compatible storage service, like Supabase Storage, AWS S3, DigitalOcean Spaces, and many more. To enable uploads, expand any text or JSON field and select the Upload tab:

Selected upload tab

Click Connect storage service and fill in the following:

Connect storage screen

Check your storage service’s docs for instructions on where to find this information. If you’re already using @aws-sdk/client-s3, use the same parameters you’re using to instantiate your client.

Click Next. If you have a connection error, tweak the parameters until you successfully connect. Let us know if you need help, and we’ll guide you through this process.

Choose your buckets

Flashboard stores your uploads in two separate buckets:

  • Bucket for secure uploads: select a bucket that's protected from public access. This bucket will be used for uploads stored inside your database fields, and you’ll need to generate a signed URL to access them.

  • Bucket for public uploads: select a bucket that allows public access to all files. We’ll only use it for image uploads inside HTML content.

Choose buckets screen

Confirm your password, click Connect storage, and that's it! You’re ready for file uploads.
